on Saturday, we talked about transportation services.

Our kind teacher peter gave us some useful words and exspressions. hope u guys make that yours.

if there is anyone who can't make sat class, it might be useful too.^-^

WORDS (related to transportation)

  1. pedestrian - 보행자 (강세 2음절)

  2. side walk - 보도

  3. pedestrian crossing - 횡단보도

  4. curb - 보도나 담따위의 가장자리에 붙는 연석 (보도랑 차도의 구분을 만들어주죠)

  5. NGV(Natural Gas Vehicle)-천연가스차 / CNG(Compressed Natural Gas)- 압축천연가스(버스에서 볼수있죠?)

EXPRESSIONS

 1. 왠지 모르게 아직 익숙하지 않아

   - For some reason, I can't get used to it by now.

 2. 계속  해주세요, 당신이하는 말이 옳아요

   - keep going, You are on the right track.

 3. 제가 잠시 다른 이야기를 했네요.(무엇에 대해 논의하다 요점에서 벗어나 돌아올때)

   - I got side tracked for a minute.

   - Sorry, I digressed.        

   - Sorry for the digression. (digress가 들어간 표현은 좀더 formal하죠. PT에서 유용하게 쓰실수 있어요)

4. 우린 항상 어긋나네요.

  - We  miss each other all the time. (이 표현에서 miss란 동사는 그리워하다 말고도 놓치다라는 뜻이 있죠)

5. 세명의 여자중에 한명에게 꽂혔어요.(한국말이 더 어색하군요..^^;)

  - I had a (huge) crush on one of three girls.

6. 요즘 입맛이 없어요.

  - I don't have an appetite these days.

  - I lost my appetite. (more common)

7. 식사 맛있게 할 준비 되셨나요? or 맛있게 드세요.(초대받은 집 식탁앞에서 주인장에게 이런말을 쉽게 들으실수 있죠)

  - Did you bring your appetite?

8. 우리 반은 질문하는 분위기가 아니에요.

  - We are not used to ask questions.

9. 알겠어요

  - I know. (이미 무엇인지 알고 있는 것에 대해 대답할때)/I see. (몰랐던 것을 상대방의 이야기등을 듣고 이해했을때)

the rest is '운전자와 보행자 모두 50 대 50의 과실이다.' but we can't  make perfect translation for that.
